The campaign will promote the tournament as “Ab Hoga Asli Muqabala” . The channel had appointed international brand consultants Saffron to arrive at the positioning strategy for the CLT20. “The study shows that the tournament was perceived as quality cricket,” said a spokesman of ESPN STAR. “But because of the newness of the concept viewers were not as tuned in as one would expect,” he added.

Which channels will get right to telecast IPL
On 8 January 2008, BCCI will dealer the name which channel is getting right to telecast the IPL series from April. The channel will get right to for one year but, it will be selected by bid. Although ZEE Group submitted their proposal but BCCI has ban it.
The Board has fixed a base price of an exorbitant $59 million for global media rights a year and even though the official invitation to bid for the rights went only to three broadcasters – ESPN Star Sports, Sony Entertainment and Nimbus Communications – others are being ‘allowed’ to bid for the rights.
Said BCCI Vice President Lalit Modi: “We are allowing any broadcaster who is interested to bid. However, for them to qualify, the IPL working committee will look criteria such as minimum reach which needs to be substantial.”
Do you think why ZEE Group has been banded by BCCI. I think, as ZEE Group has the right to telecast ICL.
Broadcast rights have shot through the roof in recent years. Last year, ESPN Star Sports paid the ICC $1.1 billion for all international cricket played under the ICC banner for a period of eight years. Nimbus, on the other hand, bought BCCI’s rights for all international cricket played in India for $612 million for a period of four years.
Ok, we have to wait for one day. Who will get right to telecast the IPL which will commence on April 2008.
