Sourav Ganguly might get chance to IPL

Opportunity may come for Sourav Ganguly to play in the Indian Premier league 2011. BCCI has given a letter to the IPL franchise whether they have any objection against signing the unsold Indian players by any team. The letter specially named Ganguly along with Wasim Jaffer and VRV Singh who were not taken by any Franchise in the auction of January 8 and 9.

RCB, MI and RR have pointed to this very rule while filing their objections, which stymies Ganguly's aspirations as a T20 cricketer. Unless there is a last-minute change of heart on the part of the franchises--before Friday's Governing Council meeting here -- it could be the end of the road for Ganguly as far as IPL is concerned.

It is reported that Kochi Franchise has shown interest to take Ganguly and contacted BCCI after which BCCI has wrote the franchises. They have to respond within February 3 and IPL governing council will decide the matter in the meeting on February 4.
