Airtel CLT20: 10 Key features of the season 2


  • 10 Teams will take part divided into 2 Groups of and 5 will be in each group
  • Top 2 Teams from each Group will appear in the Semi Finals
  • Total 23 Matches will be held is same as 2009; 5 Double Headers
  • In the Group-A; IPL champions Chennai Super Kings, 2010 Standard Bank Pro20 winner Warriors, 2009–10 KFC Twenty20 Big Bash winter Victorian Bushrangers, Wayamba Elevens the winner form Sri Lanka and Central Stags; 2010 HRV Cup champions form New Zealand. Group B – Mumbai Indians, Highveld Lions, South Australian Redbacks, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Guyana
  • Four venues have been selected where all the matches are distributed.
  • Semi Finals will be held as well as Durban and Centurion
  • Opening ceremony and Final will be kicked off in Johannesburg
  • ESPN has acquired the Broadcast right for five years over the globe.

Wins put Royal Challengers Bangalore in the top of the Standing tables

14 matches already have been over and Mumbai Indian is leading the point table at this moment by winning two matches out of two. But, today Sachin’s Mumbai Indians team is taking one Bangalore Royal Challengers. After this match the standing table supposes to be changed because the second team is BRC who has acquired two win and one defeat. This is their fourth match on the other hands MI is just appeared in the 3rd competition. It is sure to tell the BRC will move to the number one because they are the only team has acquired 6 point and all the teams have achieved 4 points except RR and Kings XI Punjab.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 7 wickets with 5 balls remaining. So they are on the top position at this moment. Kallis’ aggressive performance has brought the victory today. He was unbeaten in 66 runs from 55 balls at the end of the innings and a single wicket too. MK Pandey also scored 40 runs from 27 balls.

Royal Challengers Bangalore v Cape Cobras CLT20 and opening ceremony

After the lightning evening of the inaugural Airtel Champions League Twenty20’s eye-catching opening ceremony the first match will be kick-off at 20:00 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore between Royal Challengers Bangalore and South African club Cape Cobras. The inaugural IPL opening ceremony was arranged in the same ground. Award Winning legends Chaka Khan and Shaggy all set to perform during the ceremony and British pop star Jamelia will sing super hit song Superstar.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is the runners-up of the IPL season 2. By beating Chennai Super Kings, it qualified for the final but Deccan Chargers stopped them to hold the title. Hard hitter Ross Taylor who has 1255 runs in his bag and high strike rate similary Dale Steyn has 44 wickets. Anil Kumble will lead RCB instead of Raul Dravid.

Cape Cobras is one of the team from South Africa. It is the title holder of Pro20 Series in 2008-09 season. The team is columned with some star players of South Africa such as Herschelle Gibbs and JP Duminy. Paul Adams is familiar for his unique bowling style. Although he will not attend this time in CLT20 this year, he is one of the noted players of the team.
